The Physical Plant at the University of Indianapolis invites applications for a Director of Facility Maintenance. This is a full-time, non-exempt staff position.
Responsibilities: provide leadership and oversight to the facility maintenance department of the Physical Plant. The candidate must have general carpentry and mechanical skills, experience in the maintenance field, and analytical aptitude. This person will supervise the facilities maintenance area and serve as the physical plant liaison/project manager for the on-site contractors on-campus.

Required Education/Experience/Skills (Minimum Qualifications)
A valid Indiana driver’s license and documented five to ten years of maintenance experience and/or vocational training and a high school diploma or GED required. Able to stand, bend, stoop, reach, climb steps, work from ladders, and be able to lift 85 pounds in order to perform required maintenance and repairs. Must adhere to all safety standards and work practices established by the Physical Plant and professional practices. Should be well organized and able to prioritize work. Must be able to work well with others and work with or without supervision. Work is performed indoors and outdoors. Candidate must not have a fear of heights and tight places. Overtime and flexible hours may be required at times. Serving in an on-call duty rotation will be required.
