The Corporate Finance Director serves as a tactical and operational business partner to Community Finance Directors, Corporate Finance and Operations Partners, Regional NFP Boards and Regional Executive Teams (Regional VPs - Finance, Regional VPs ¿ Operations, Regional VPs - Sales) and supports the Regional Finance Vice Presidents in the development and implementation of strategic plans. The position has overall responsibility for the following areas:
Provide business support to the Community teams.
Help maintain and verify comprehensive accounting controls and procedures are in place and performed efficiently and effectively.
Assist the Regional Finance Vice Presidents and evaluate overall financial performance thru review and analysis of all financial reports.
Support the financial needs of operations.
Assist the internal audit and compliance functions.
Work with the Regional Finance Vice Presidents to identify and communicate resolutions of business and enterprise risks.
Build a relationship and create regular communications with the Regional Leadership Teams on financial and community matters.
Additional responsibilities include facilitating the process for generating a logical and meaningful business plan and quarterly updates. The Corporate FD will liaise with central services in the preparation of financial reporting and accounting functions.The Corporate FD will also work collectively and collaboratively with communities to ensure best practices and processes are in place and followed by all communities as appropriate.
Assist in training and development of community FD¿s.
Assist Regional Finance Vice Presidents monitor and evaluate monthly risk assessment reporting for communities, identifying critical issues and driving action plans as needed to achieve annual community goals.
Evaluate operational and financial performance of the communities and provide updates to Regional Finance Vice Presidents. Assist Regional Executive Teams to identify performance opportunities and implement action plans as necessary.
Review, assess and provide recommendations to Regional Finance Vice Presidents regarding community short term cash needs, as necessary.
Assist Regional Finance Vice Presidents evaluate and recommend to management and boards the long term community strategy.
Partner with corporate operations and peer teams to identify process improvement opportunities for the communities and enterprise.
Foster cooperation with amongst corporate and community staff to ensure effective coordination, communication and support among the stakeholders.
The FD will be expected to travel as needed to perform the duties as described. This travel is essential to performing the role in a manner that builds relationships at the community level with residents, boards and community employees.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
4 year college degree, BS/BA in Accounting/Finance required
CPA/MBA a plus
7 to 10 years in related/similar industry with at least the last 5+ years in a management/supervisory role
