Director, Graduate Admissions
This is a full-time, exempt position which falls within the APA union.

General Statement of Duties:
The Director of Graduate Admissions oversees the entire range of graduate admission affairs and is a critical member of the leadership team in the College of Graduate Studies. The director reports to the Dean and leads a staff of five. This position is responsible for the review of graduate applications and credentials; provides critical support, guidance and strategic leadership on the recruitment and marketing efforts of the college, including online and adult education programs. The director serves as the operational liaison between the Graduate College and Enrollment Services.

Core Duties:
1. Provide dynamic and strategic leadership for graduate admissions
2. Closely monitor the admission process from application through enrollment, instituting efficiencies and utilizing advanced technologies whenever possible
3. Work with administrators and graduate program coordinators to set and meet enrollment goals for the College of Graduate Studies
4. Work closely with admissions staff to process applications in a timely fashion
5. Collaborate with staff of the College of Graduate Studies and University to develop and implement strategic marketing, recruitment and communication plans for graduate programs
6. Represent the College of Graduate Studies on university-wide committees
7. Assist at recruitment events as needed
8. Provide timely reports, updates, and analysis of admission activities and enrollment trends
9. Manage the graduate admissions budget and provide input on its development
10. Work closely with academic, administrative, and operational staff to achieve strategic goals
11. Translate the graduate admissions function to the mission, vision, and values of the College of Graduate Studies and University
12. Other duties as assigned

Required Minimum Qualifications

1. Bachelor's degree
2. At least 5 years of successful admission experience
3. Experience working collaboratively with academic departments
4. Experience in operations and budget management
5. Credentials evaluation experience
6. Ability to supervise and motivate staff, build teams, and work effectively with other administrators
7. Familiarity with Banner and/or other information systems widely used in higher education
8. Excellent analytical, communication, and networking skills

Preferred Qualifications

1. Master's degree
2. At least 5 years of successful admission experience, including file review and policy implementation, preferably at the graduate level
3. Experience working collaboratively with graduate programs
4. Track record of providing strategic leadership to the admissions function
5. Experience reviewing of international credentials
6. Experience and knowledge of immigration processes relative to students
