The HR Director is responsible for working with a major functional group in the organization to understand business strategy and develop HR programs and initiatives in support of those business requirements as well as corporate initiatives. Line HR Directors develop the HR strategy for a functional group, under the Corporate HR umbrella and manage the implementation of those programs through internal or external resources. Line HR Directors manage staffs of HR people who deal with employee relations, management development, benefits training and the full range of HR programs. The Line HR director is responsible for assuring the effective delivery of HR services to the line organization as well as identifying opportunities to increase organizational effectiveness and/or employee productivity and well being.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Develop the appropriate HR strategy to support a major line function. Plan to include strategies of recruiting, retention and employee and management development.
Develop the plan for implementation of these strategies through staff, line managers and internal corporate groups as well as external resources.
Support and deliver corporate HR programs
Identify potential employee and management problems and work them to resolution.
Coach and counsel managers on management issues.
Assure Pivotal policies and management practices are being used appropriately in client organization.
Escalate problems early that may impact business results or pose a liability to the employees or the company.
