Job Description:

Responsible for directing all aspects of the agency's
technology infrastructure from the corporate datacenter
to satellite offices to end user devices. Areas of
responsibility include strategic planning, supervising
direct reports, implementing and maintaining hardware,
software, data and telecommunication circuits, managing
multiple simultaneous projects, participating in the
budget planning process, creating and maintaining system
documentation, and providing routine reports to

Network (35%)
  • Oversee daily support of computer network including
decentralized locations
  • Direct all help desk and end-user support
  • Plan and direct network server upgrades and service
  • Maintain and update data lines, hubs, switches and
  • Coordinate with vendors as necessary
  • Troubleshoot remote access
  • Oversee all aspects of network security including
backup, firewall, anti-virus and intrusion detection
and prevention
  • Direct firewall and anti-virus initiatives
  • Perform routine status checks of anti-virus server,
firewall and previous nights backup
Financial (15%)
  • Annual budget development and monitoring
  • In coordination with the Vice President of Physical
Resources oversee all electronic capability contract
renewals and vendor negotiations
  • Purchase software license renewals and update
license inventory
  • Follow annual IT budget outline of equipment to make
  • Oversee the maintenance of the IT computer inventory
Administration (40%)
  • Direct all aspects of e-mail administration
  • Oversee IT manual updating
  • Plan and direct software application upgrades
  • Implement and direct agency IT plan
  • Implement and maintain a backup and disaster
recovery plan including corresponding documentation
  • Identify IT solutions that meet business objectives
  • Identify IT solutions that improve the quality of
life for individuals served
  • Define and enforce system standards
  • Meet with Human Resources and Programs and
Organizational Learning to review agency computer
policy, assess computer capability and schedule
appropriate job specific computer training
  • Communicates and collaborates with other directors
and managers, as appropriate, regarding IT support,
capabilities and equipment needs
Human Resource Management (10%)
  • Plan, direct and implement training for IT
initiatives including hardware and software, e-mail
and other network applications

BA/BS in computer science, information systems or
related field
Five years experience managing a multi-site network
Network+ certified
Proficient in managing a virtualized server environment
(VMware vSphere 4.1-5.1 preferred)
Proficient in managing a Windows 2008 domain
Proficient in managing Microsoft Exchange 2010
Proficient in managing Citrix Xenapp and Remote Desktop
Basic understanding of SQL
Valid Ohio Driver’s license with less than two moving
violations, under 25 must be clean record
Must have and maintain vehicle liability insurance
