Responsible for overseeing the development, implementation, and use of information technology company-wide. This includes directing IT operations as well as the support and maintenance of existing applications and development of new technical solutions. The position is responsible for the global infrastructure, large software applications, high performance computing (HPC), and cloud solutions.
Manage the deployment, monitoring, maintenance, development, upgrade, and support of all IT systems, including servers, PCs, operating systems, HPC cluster, telephones, software applications, and peripherals. Ensure reliable and effective operation of critical IT functions and implementation of effective disaster recovery solutions. Analyze risks, including security, data loss, and business operations, and identify and implement strategies to mitigate them. Analyze business needs presented by users and/or clients and recommend technical solutions. Ensure the consistency and maintainability of existing applications by creating, maintaining, and enforcing standards and procedures. Ensure adequate documentation of IT infrastructure and procedures, including methods of resolving issues for future reference. Direct operations and establish and meet schedules in executing production tasks. Manage the IT department, including setting goals and priorities, managing workload, reviewing performance, and providing training opportunities as appropriate. Review designs, code, and unit test plans where applicable. Participate in hardware and software evaluations and maintain vendor contracts. Represent the IT department at customer and user meetings when appropriate. Perform liaison duties between users, operations, and programming personnel in the areas of systems design, modifications or trouble shooting. Participate in various departmental projects to include new business ventures, product offerings, and client requirements as they relate to IT resource or web-based development needs.
Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or related field or related experience
Minimum six (6) years experience within Information Technology in a global setting.
Experience in the following technologies/products:
VOIP phone sytems
HP - UNIX
Ability to work in an office environment at least 8 hours per day.
Ability to travel and attend off-site, events on occasion and in relation to job responsibilities.
Ability to use computers for work, including text documents, email, spreadsheets, Internet research, etc.
Ability to lift up to 80 pounds as necessary.
Communication skills sufficient to conduct regular business activities as defined in the position responsibilities.
