Key Responsibilities



Lead development of global supply chain strategy


Manufacturing functional excellence leadership


Global capital and demand planning


Advanced manufacturing leadership (process preceding technology work)


Manages the planning, designing, purchasing, and/or implementation of integrated manufacturing assembly or fabrication processes in a large manufacturing plant or line of business


Provide overall leadership of Manufacturing Engineering and Industrial Engineers and related departmental activities


Provide technical consultation, leadership and advice to staff and project teams


Manage and develop manufacturing and supply chain capability; work with employees to set goals in training and development, performance, and career planning Mentor and coach individual and collective talent to develop manufacturing and supply chain capability across the organization


Champion continuous improvement projects that align with COS and Functional Excellence direction by leveraging common processes, tools and information systems


Ensure production equipment is available and capable


Partner with internal and external functional stakeholders to maintain strategic and critical relationships


Ensure supply chains, intra-company and intercompany, meet all customer and business requirements


Align with internal business partners to garner support and advocacy of enterprise manufacturing and supply chain initiatives


Review KPI’s and operational trends to validate root cause analysis and corrective action plans


Intervene to address supply chain failures as necessary


Prepare and manage an annual operating plan including expense, resources, and capital


Set the aim for the organization and ensure individual work plans are consistent with manufacturing and supply chain initiatives


Responsible for ensuring Cummins values are present in the plant including championing diversity, community involvement and right environment initiatives


Education, Licenses, Certifications

BS in technical or scientific fields, preferably engineering. College, university, or equivalent Manufacturing Engineering degree or related technical or scientific field is required.


Significant level of relevant work experience, including managerial and budgetary experience, required.


Financial Planning - Ability to develop and control a process that delivers an annual operating plan that achieves the objectives of the business while meeting the corporate guidelines and goals. The financial plan confirms that the objectives set are achievable from a financial point of view for both profit and cash flow. Ability to develop, implement and control the planning process. Sets realistic targets for the business based on the objectives of the business. Identifies any risks or opportunities related to the plan and works with the business to mitigate the risks.

Coach And Develop - Accurately assesses strength and development needs of employees; gives timely, specific feedback and helpful coaching; provides challenging assignments and opportunities for development. Demonstrated results indicating deep knowledge of coaching and developing. Guides other leaders on the use of coaching and developing skills Coaches direct reports and others through serious performance problems or major skill building. Dedicates significant time to structured and planned work in this area. Consistently on the lookout for stretch assignments and development experiences for direct reports and other key talent. Has a reputation for being a strong developer of others.

Continuous Process Improvement - This skill involves Cummins Operating System (COS) Practice 2 -Synchronized Flows. Continuous Process Improvement works to eliminate waste, improve quality, and reduce production time and cost by using Continuous Process Improvement tools. Its focus is the reduction of the 7 wastes (Over-production, Waiting time, Transportation, Over-processing, Inventory, Motion and Scrap). Has extensive experience using continuous process improvement methodologies. Able to lead continuous process improvement projects and train others in continuous process improvement methodologies. Able to recognize continuous process improvement opportunities quickly using past experiences and training.

Compensation and Benefits:
Compensation: Base salary commensurate with experience.
