Our Seattle office is currently looking for a Director of Marketing & Communication to join the team. If you are a savvy marketing professional with impressive communication skills and experience in the advertising or technology fields, we’d like to talk with you.

The Job

As Director of Marketing & Communication, you will oversee internal and public-facing communication and marketing program for the agency, and you will accelerate growth opportunities by executing a compelling and consistent communication strategy designed to raise awareness of the Seattle Wunderman Network brand. Furthermore, you will engage and inspire our employees and clients through creative and effective information-sharing programs.
  • Lead the Communication team in Seattle and take ownership of the strategy and execution of all marketing, PR, and marcom efforts, including the agency’s website and social media channels
  • Proactively develop and implement PR and communication strategies that align to the company’s business goals
  • Partner with the Client Development team to ensure their prospecting activities are in alignment with the agency’s marcom and PR efforts
  • Develop creative and measurably effective ways of marketing the agency and generating new leads
  • Support the Managing Director, to whom you will report, with strategic internal and external communication needs including (but not limited to) letters, PowerPoint presentations, blog posts, speeches, newsletters, and monthly/quarterly/annual business reports
  • As a member of the management team, provide communication guidance and expertise and serve as an expert resource for the agency as needed
  • Lead efforts in executive networking, speaking engagements, and other initiatives to enhance the Seattle Wunderman Network brand within the Puget Sound business and marketing communities
  • Create solid partnerships across all departments to ensure a unified approach to both internal and client-facing presentations and announcements
  • Manage and improve internal communication programs designed to keep our employees informed and engaged
  • Orchestrate the creation of agendas and content for monthly and quarterly all-agency meetings
  • Work with the senior creative team to surface the agency’s best output and coordinate entries in awards programs such as the ADDYs, ECHOs, and Cannes Lions competitions
  • Collaborate with Wunderman’s corporate communications team members in New York and Seattle on high-profile internal and external communication effort s
The Successful Candidate

Ideally, you have previously worked in a marketing or communication-focused capacity for an agency, consulting firm, or technology company. You are self-motivated, team-oriented, and have a strong interest in creating engaging and informative content. Your exceptional verbal, written, and presentation skills, marketing know-how, marcom/PR expertise, ability to deal with ambiguity, superior organizational skills, and preference for a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment will be vital to your success in this role.

Specific Requirements:
  • BA/BS degree required, ideally in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, or related area of study
  • A minimum of 10 years’ experience in the fields of marketing / marketing communication
  • Understanding of B2B marketing and lead generation, particularly in the professional services space
  • Public relations expertise and history of media placements
  • Previous advertising/marketing agency experience is strongly preferred
  • Demonstrated effectiveness working independently and as a member of a term
  • Prior success establishing and managing cross-functional relationships
  • Ability to work effectively in a rapidly changing and demanding environment
  • Exceptional interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
  • Superior active listening skills and the ability to translate abstract concepts and disorganized information into cohesive, meaningful content
  • Familiarity with branding and experience executing branding guidelines
  • Interest in and strong aptitude for understanding advertising and direct-marketing campaigns
  • Willingness to learn technical details of clients’ products and services when required
  • Ability to identify a need and propose a creative solution
  • Acumen with Microsoft Office with heightened expertise in PowerPoint
