What You’ll be Doing:
Overview: The Marketing Director will drive the development and execution of marketing strategies to boost revenue through the increase of brand awareness and market position, while developing TechSmith Corporation (TSC) as an industry leader in key horizontal and vertical segments.

This position is responsible for collaborative creation, implementation, and measurement of successful, comprehensive marketing programs. Candidates should have the demonstrated ability to build a team atmosphere and deliver tangible results in a fast-paced environment. You must be a detail oriented, engaged leader who enjoys facilitating a highly collaborative and collegial workplace that attracts, retains, and motivates top-quality personnel.

The Marketing Director will also be a key part of the TSC management team, establishing marketing as a leader in TechSmith’s solutions and product development process to better meet customers’ needs. The position will contribute an integral voice to the senior leadership team to guide the company through the transition from product marketing to brand-driven, solutions marketing.

Responsibilities:
Work with marketing managers and senior staff to develop and operationalize TechSmith’s overall marketing and strategic planning programs and corporate communications.

Develop short, mid, and long-term plans for marketing department activities and monitor progress, assure success, and evaluate performance.

With V.P. of Marketing and Sales, recommend short-term and long-term marketing goals and objectives to the TSC executive committee.

Deeply understand global technology trends and how they apply to TechSmith strategies, especially in cloud and mobile.

Research and make recommendations for new channels, strategies, and operational tactics that will introduce TechSmith products to targeted markets.

Assist in the representation of TSC with the media and community.

Ensure articulation of TSC’s desired image and position and assure consistent communication of image and position throughout the marketing department and organization as a whole.

Develop, implement, and monitor systems and procedures necessary to the smooth operation of the marketing department.

Provide direction, resources, and remove barriers to help marketing team transform information into knowledge and learning.

Mentor and coach marketing managers to continue to learn, grow and effectively lead the marketing team, ensuring the marketing team consists of smart, passionate employees determined to meet their goals.

Required Skills and Background:
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in marketing, sales, communications or public relations with demonstrated success, preferably in the technology industry.

Minimum of 2-3 years management and strategic planning experience, with a proven track record in developing and accelerating programs and personnel.

Demonstrated ability to recruit, motivate, coach and develop top level talent.

Bachelor’s degree in journalism, marketing, or public relations preferred. Graduate degree in a related field is desirable.

Must be a self-starter, highly organized, and able to work well with all levels in the organization.

Polished writing, presentation, and interpersonal skills. Must possess top -level business management skills, excellent interpersonal skills, and facilitation skills for communication inside and outside the company.

Passionate interest in technology and marketing and a desire for continuous learning.

Must have the ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders across different departments and disciplines.

Must be comfortable using and learning new software and technology, including but not limited to communication tools (Outlook, Twitter, Facebook, etc.), customer relationship management (CRM) tools, digital media tools (Camtasia Studio, Jing, Snagit, other video and image editing tools, etc.), and more.

Experience with online communities and social media a plus.
