Ohio Dominican University is conducting a search for a Director of Multicultural Affairs.
The Director of Multicultural Affairs is responsible for the development, implementation and evaluation of a comprehensive student development program for under-represented students on campus with the goal of impacting student success at Ohio Dominican University. The Director of Multicultural Affairs is also responsible for promoting the institution’s Catholic and Dominican mission and heritage as well as an understanding and appreciation of diverse cultures and backgrounds.
As a member of the Student Development leadership team, the director develops and implements cultural awareness for the Ohio Dominican University community to include programs and events relevant to the experience of students that foster a climate of respect and appreciation for the history and traditions of students.
With guidance from leadership in Student Development, the director plans and executes educational, social and cultural activities that inform the broader student population of the benefits of promoting diversity as part of the Dominican educational experience.
This critical position establishes collaborative relationships with key campus constituencies in both Student Development and Academic Affairs to encourage cross-cultural dialogue and promote greater cultural awareness.
The successful candidate will hold a Master’s degree in higher education administration, student personnel, and counseling or a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience. The candidate will have three years of supervisory experience along with a minimum of three years of progressively responsible experience in Student Affairs. Proficiency with MS Office, Word and Excel is required. Exceptional supervisory and communication skills, along with the ability to work collaboratively with students, faculty, staff, administrators and the community needed to do the job successfully.
