Job Description: POSITION TITLE: Director of Operations LOCATION / DEPT: Corporate/180 (Englewood, CO) Must hold a valid Airline Transport Pilot certificateESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: • Oversees the development of Flight Operations policies and procedures to ensure that flight operations are conducted in accordance with regulations, company policies and with the utmost regard to safety. • Responsible for developing and managing the Flight Operations budget • Responsible for the assigned areas operational goals and objectives along with a thorough knowledge of Air Methods policies/procedures and compliance with FARs and General Operations Manual (GOM). • Coordinate with the Director of Maintenance and Chief Pilot to develop Operations Department policies and procedures, to include the Operations Manual and applicable sections of the Operations Specifications. • Communicates Flight Operation policy and procedure plans to the Senior Vice President of Aviation Services and President of Domestic Operations • Demonstrate a positive working relationship with the FAA. • Supervises the distribution and posting of all information or memoranda relative to changes in Flight Operations. • Coordinate duties as may be necessary directly with the Director of Maintenance, Chief Pilot, Vice President of Safety, Regional Vice-Presidents and/or Customer Support Administrator to ensure all operations are compliant with the General Operations Manual and Federal Aviation Regulations. • Coordinate duties directly with the Regional Vice-Presidents and Customer Support Administrator to ensure proper and productive customer service. • Coordinate with the Senior Vice President of Aviation Services, and relevant departments/divisions/agencies for all aircraft and equipment acquisitions, configurations and utilization. • Serve as a member of the Safety Operations Round Table (SORT). • Informs the Senior Vice President of Aviation Services, of all significant Operations Department issues.QUALIFICATIONS: Required: Education: Bachelors degree in any area or working toward completion of a Bachelors degree. Experience: Must meet requirements of FAR 119.71 Licenses & Certificates: Must meet requirements of FAR 119.71 (must hold an airline transport pilot certificate)Preferred: Education: Bachelors degree in Business Experience: 10 years management experience Licenses & Certificates: RELATIONSHIPS: Reports To: Sr. Vice President Aviation Services Interfaces With: Chief Pilot, Director of Maintenance, VP of Safety Supervises: Regional Aviation DirectorsLOCATION DIFFERENCES: SKILLS: • Professional demeanor and excellent interpersonal skills • Effective oral and written communication skills • Ability to manage and administer a broad range of tasks • Ability to exercise sound judgment and make decisions in a manner consistent with the essential job functions • Ability to prepare written reports and correspondences, and presentations to senior leadership as required • Proven leadership • Ability to build and maintain positive relationships internally and externally • Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Office, including hardware and software applications • Willingness to work overtime, evenings and weekends (if required)PHYSICAL DEMANDS: • Computer, printer, copier, calculator and other related office equipment. • The majority of duties are performed in an indoor environment; limited exposure to an outdoors environment. • May be exposed to routine office noises and minor electrical and mechanical hazards and occasional exposure to an aircraft hangar environment where exposure to loud aircraft noise, fumes, gases, odors, dust particles, and mechanical, electrical and chemical hazards exist. • Must be present at work site to complete job.
