About the Job:
Reporting to the Chief Technology Officer, the Director of Engineering, Platforms is responsible for the systems and tools which enable Chartboost to deliver world-class service and product quality while meeting development goals. This is a critical leadership role at Chartboost. We are seeking an individual who can be responsible for technical strategy, building a world-class team, leading engineers towards significant goals, and perform hands-on coding. We deal with an extraordinary amount of traffic, our platform encompasses everything from API calls to servicing a real-time dashboard to delivering ads to mobile games. We are looking for someone to take our mission-critical cloud infrastructure to the next level. This system will be responsible for provisioning, load balancing, service hosting and uptime, monitoring, alerting and everything else we aren't doing now that you tell us we should be doing. You are looking for the opportunity to work in a complex, high traffic system and be given the the freedom to create this system the "right way". We really want this role to "own" this side of our platform and build and be responsible for making our platform awesome and reliable.
Responsibilities: In collaboration with the CTO and leadership team, define requirements for all Platforms code and technical systems. This includes the creation of new Platforms products and all internal customer tools/systems. Oversee technical architecture and create a Platform with world-class reliability and performance. Attract, hire, and retain great engineers. Manage engineers who work on Platform technologies. Provide leadership, career development, and mentorship. Ensure on-time delivery of fulfillment projects with fast performance and minimal error rates. Perform hands-on coding and debugging. Work with executive management team to set priorities for projects and define long-term technology strategy.
Requirements: BS in computer science, MS or PhD preferred At least 5 years of experience managing teams of engineers. You can code and you have shipped products several times.
