The Private Label Product Line Manager role exists to create strategy and implementation of effort to enhance customer loyalty and to increase profitability. Together with the Sr. Director Merchandising, Clymb365 Director, Merch Planner, and the Marketing team, will deploy private label products, Clymb Branded and Special Make Up (SMU) in apparel, gear, accessories, etc. This role is expected to develop strategy and deployment of private label, Clymb Branded and SMU product lines and champion the process in a cross-functional team environment with all departments. Some travel is required.
Manage new private label, Clymb branded and SMU products and execute product lines to complement rather than compete with existing branded product offerings.
Analyze economic and commercial conditions to identify potential markets for products and services.
Leverage an understanding of the competitive marketplace to project opportunities and threats.
Develop pricing strategies, balancing company objectives and customer satisfaction.
Work closely with the merchandising team as the product development resource to articulate the product creation business proposition.
Build brand loyalty for private label, Clymb branded and SMU products.
Create financial models that demonstrate the value for the customer and result in profitable business for the company.

Support multiple product development processes, sourcing products through various partners and suppliers. Coordinate closely with category buyers and marketing team to create products that would coordinate with themed events, helping to achieve our goal of sell through within payment terms. Ensure that product lines stay in supply, with appropriate inventory management at all points in the pipeline.
Manage the product lifecycle. Design strategy of product lifecycle to enable streamlined, efficient product development and sourcing processes.
Support the merchandise planning process of defining product assortment by product type, price point, and trend (traditional Linebuilding).
Develop product specification and product briefs including images, development information, bill-of-materials, bill-of-labor, testing requirements, etc.
Create and adhere to a 12 month product calendar when planning product lines.
Create a system to control vendor information for product lines, to include supplier profiles, capabilities, negotiated capacity, and past performance & trends.
Early sourcing and costing to ensure best cost for products by putting out RFQs with multiple suppliers.
Network with outdoor and action sport industry organizations and publications to stay current on the latest industry trends and technological developments.
Partner with Marketing, Merchandising, and Operations to optimize packaging and/or reduce costs.
Significant Product Line Management experience that
Proven track record of relationship building, and successful negotiation
Willingness to take ownership of success in category
Unrelenting passion for products across several categories
In-depth understanding of product creation processes - design, development, production
Experience with both domestic and off shore manufacturing
Solid understanding of retail buying processes, inclusive of futures, at-once and SMU models
Ability to deliver on margin and volume expectations. Industry e-commerce experience preferred
Strong analytical and PC skills
Some travel required
