The Director, Product Development will play a key role in developing new products for AccentHealth’s audience, doctors offices, and advertisers. He/she will work closely with the senior management team to develop new products that may include television, print, digital media, and/or mobile and tablet formats. He/she will manage all aspects of these products from business planning, project management, and development through implementation and performance measurement. As such he/she will play a critical role in driving further growth in the AccentHealth business.
•Create the vision for new products, and changes and additions to existing products to achieve AccentHealth’s strategic goals. Examples could include:
oNew mobile and interactive products for patients to use on their own devices in the waiting room
oDemo-targeted TV networks, e.g. AccentHealth Hispanic network
oAdvertising products/packages for key target ad categories for growth
oWaiting room print products for DTC specialty categories (e.g. oncology)
oPatient education programs in other venues in the doctor’s office, e.g. materials in the examination room
•Document and communicate proposed products through specifications and presentations
•Work closely with leaders of key business functions (including the ad sales, office recruiting, marketing, research and technology teams) to understand product requirement and constraints, and refine products as necessary
•Develop business case for products including proposed pricing, competitive positioning, rollout timing and estimate of market demand
•Project manage rollout of projects from start to finish, including design and build, with all key stakeholders
•Evaluate product post-launch, and continue to refine based on audience, office, and advertiser response, and performance/audience data
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
•Minimum of 5-10 years of product management experience and a minimum of 3 years of pharmaceutical or healthcare marketing experience working at either at a media company, pharmaceutical company, healthcare services provider, or ad agency
•Familiarity with TV/video, print and internet product formats
•Understanding of Direct to Consumer advertising model for prescription drugs, including some familiarity with legal and regulatory constraints for DTC advertising
•Experience with mobile and tablet app development a plus
•Experience with products delivered at point of care a plus
•Demonstrated experience managing product development in an advertising-supported environment
•Demonstrated experience managing competing priorities to hit deadlines for multiple projects
•College degree required
•Excellent computer skills required (PowerPoint, Word, Excel)
