As the Director of Backend, you will lead product development efforts for our operations, finance and customer-facing post-order systems. Minted is building a world-class fulfillment platform which processes millions of customized unique orders; and this team is building a portfolio of disruptive and highly differentiated new products that aim to be even more scalable and efficient in order to meet Minted’s continued growth. You will have a deep understanding of the supply chain landscape, operation processes, competitive offerings, and customer needs, and will leverage qualitative and quantitative data to support feature prioritization and positioning. You will ensure that the products meet and exceed the highest standards of customer experience, security, technical precision and scalability. You will work across the company to build partnerships and leverage Minted assets to develop products that grow with our customer and business needs. You possess a strong background in product development, and the ability to communicate and coordinate with and influence a range of stakeholders including senior management, product development, system engineering, finance and business development teams. You absolutely must have a solid and proven track record of bringing successful products to market. You must be able to drive multiple initiatives simultaneously.


Shape and drive the operations and financial systems product roadmap

Gather and distill requirements from Minted customers, internal teams (operations, engineering, merchandising), and elsewhere; translate these into a cohesive and actionable vision aligned with company goals

Identify product needs based on analytics, financial and operational targets and metrics, and competitive analysis

Help determine and drive buy/build/partner solutions for components as necessary

Write specifications, prioritize features, build consensus, and coordinate product schedules

Create wireframes, PRDs and other illustrations to convey feature ideas and gather feedback

Communicate product roadmap and release schedules to stakeholders

Manage product teams including running product meeting, maintaining product specs and backlog, coordinating design, development and QA activities

Lead the implementation of the product roadmap through close partnership with the engineering and operations teams

Coordinate with other product managers and designers to ensure the cohesiveness of the overall user experience

Define hypotheses for new features, measuring success against clearly defined goals and metrics

Define and coordinate the creation and analyze the results of A/B tests

Define, monitor and react to key product metrics

Review, edit and prioritize bugs and features

Previous experience in operations or supply-chain management

You have a computer science degree or equivalent programming experience, and can communicate effectively with engineers about product details and technical options.
