DIRECTOR OF PROSPECT RESEARCH & MANAGEMENT

The University of New Hampshire seeks an experienced, dynamic, and analytical leader to fill this key position directing the day-to-day activities of the prospect research and management team, who will build a sustainable culture and structure of collaborative prospect management with the development staff at the UNH Foundation. Specifically, the successful candidate will work closely with University and Foundation leadership and development officers to ensure that appropriate and intentional steps are taken to increase the value of their portfolios, and optimize results by guiding them in the development of appropriate cultivation and solicitation strategies. He or she will provide direction and leadership to a team of prospect research analysts who are responsible for discovering prospects needed to successfully achieve the University's fundraising priorities, and will advise fundraising staff in the strategic management of donor relationships. The director also oversees the provision of in-depth research and data analysis that deeply informs interactions with top prospects, and provides close oversight of the prospect management program for University Advancement - comprised of the Foundation, alumni affairs, and Communications and Marketing.-

Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree required, advanced degree preferred; 8 years Prospect Research and Management experience (in either fundraising or sales); 3 years supervisory experience.

Additional Desirable Qualifications:
Ability to set and achieve strategic plans to achieve departmental goals that align with and support UNH campaign objectives.
Knowledge of the Prospect Research and Management industry and industry tools, including internet search tools and databases; knowledge of Advancement best practices.
Strategic analysis and information management.
Tact, diplomacy, and ability to work effectively with a variety of people.
Strong sense of discretion and confidentiality.
Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
