Lead the PR team, including a PR manager and PR intern.

Proactively pitch national and local media including technology and business press, TV and radio.

Drive proactive coverage around company product launches and customer success stories.

Write and coordinate distribution of all press materials (press releases, media briefings).

Coordinate executive interview opportunities and speaker platforms.

Submit company for relevant industry awards and product reviews.

Editorial calendar tracking.

Media and events calendar planning.

Provide coverage reports.

Closely manage product reviews and develop supportive material.

Monitor press and blog coverage of the company and competitors.

Keep a constant flow of updates on significant product rollouts and events like contests to secure local, regional, national and international, electronic and print media (radio, television, newspaper, magazine and online) feature coverage, reviews and listings.

Create & maintain media relations tools, databases and promotional assets.

Maintain media archives (including press releases, media coverage, sample materials, etc.) including company news room.

Provide internal reports communicating the efforts of the department for cross-functional settings.

Required skills:
BA in PR, Communications, Journalism, English, Marketing or related field.

8-10+ years experience in communications or related field, ideally related to technology/internet, mobile, communications or cloud/SaaS in a B2B / SMB market.

Combination of public relations agency and in-house corporate PR experience.

Strong media relations experience and established media contacts.

Must have digital PR experience, specifically understand how to implement a digital PR strategy including search engine optimization, blogging/blogger relations and collaborative social media in support of public relations objectives.

Excellent writing skills for news releases, pitches, fact sheets, etc.

Strong verbal communications skills.

Ability to work both independently and in a team environment.

Must have mastery of press relations standards and practices for release and pitch development and publishing.

Must be effective in fast-paced working environments with absolute deadlines.

Experience in marketing and communications, crisis communications experience and training a plus.

Excellent intra-office communication and interpersonal skills required.

Ability to understand and maintain the highest levels of confidentiality and discretion.
