The Director of Culinary Publicity develops overall PR strategy for the newly combined cookbook group, develops campaigns for the group’s 40-50 titles per year, and executes campaigns for high profile, lead titles -- writes press releases, books national media and author tours, and virtual events. The candidate manages the cookbook publicity budget, participates in cookbook editorial meetings, attends important culinary industry conferences and participates in launch, sales conference, marketing planning and other meetings. The position requires 5-6 years of cookbook publicity experience, extensive culinary media contacts, a proven track record of breaking through the noise, top notch communication skills, creativity and an ability to create a buzz through viral efforts and social networking communities.
