DIRECTOR OF RESOURCE DEVELOPMENT
OREGON CHILD DEVELOPMENT COALITION (OCDC)
The Oregon Child Development Coalition (OCDC) provides family-focused, comprehensive early childhood development services to children 0 to six years old. OCDC is a private non-profit agency governed by a volunteer Board of Directors and funded by the U.S Department of Health and Human Services, Oregon Department of Education, Oregon Child Care Division, USDA and miscellaneous grants. OCDCs annual budget is approximately $48 million. Founded in 1971 in response to a tragic farm accident involving the death of a young child, OCDC has evolved into one of the largest early childhood care and education networks in Oregon, not to mention the states 6th largest non-profit organization.
OCDC provides services to over 4000 children in the State of Oregon. Over 3000 of those children are involved in the Migrant and Seasonal Heat Start programs offered in twelve counties in twenty seven sites throughout Oregon. We employ approximately 900 employees with seasonal peaks as high as 1200.
We are currently seeking a Director of Resource Development to take responsibility for leading the planning, design, implementation and evaluation of all aspects of the agencys fundraising. We have relied primarily on State and Federal funding and recognize the need to seek other sources of revenue as we continue to grow. We believe that opportunities exist to grow our foundation funding and expand our annual giving program. We place special emphasis on major and planned gifts from individuals, foundations and corporations. This is an opportunity to build a resource development department from the ground up. Reporting to the Executive Director, the Director of Resource Development will be a key member of the agencys leadership team.
We are searching for an experienced Development Director with proven success designing and executing a full range of philanthropic fundraising strategies. They must be a self-starter with leadership experience and the ability to successfully put ideas into action and get results.
