Director of Revenue Management - Full Time
St. Mary's is currently seeking a dynamic Director of Revenue Management to join their Finance Department located in New Hyde Park.
The Director of Revenue Cycle Management is responsible for establishing and overseeing ongoing implementation of billing and collection systems and procedures to maximize revenue for each of the inpatient, facility- based and community-based programs and services that are provided by the various entities that comprise St. Mary’s Healthcare System for Children, and for ensuring compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations governing the submission of claims to third party payers and individuals. A key member of the financial management team, the Director of Revenue Cycle Management is responsible for managing overall accounts receivable and works in collaboration with the Director of Finance and others to ensure that the organization’s financial reports reflect reasonable estimates of balances due, taking into consideration required certifications and contractual allowances, as appropriate. He/she is responsible for ensuring that patient registration systems and procedures are such that demographic and other information essential for billing and managed care purposes is appropriately and accurately documented up front, and maintained in the system for ongoing use. In close collaboration with the Director of Finance and other members of the senior leadership team, he/she plays a key role in the ongoing refinement and implementation of managed care contracting strategies, working to ensure that each St. Mary’s program/service is positioned to meet the evolving needs and requirements of the payers and patients served in the most cost-effective way possible. He/she is responsible for setting and monitoring achievement of revenue team goals, and for evaluating and coaching of his/her staff.

Formal education required: Masters Degree or equivalent work experience in financial management of a health care organization.
Previous experience required:
1. Minimum of ten years’ of managerial and supervisory experience in health care revenue cycle management.
2. Familiarity with the use of electronic billing/claims processing systems, ideally including experience with skilled nursing facility (SNF) and home care billing.
3. Experience in key aspects of the ‘managed care’ process, including negotiating/contracting, utilization management, credentialing and pricing.
4. Experience in policy development.
