Director, SaaS Operations
The Director of Saas Operations is responsible for developing, managing, and evolving Jobvite’s Saas based Cloud Services functions to ensure technical operational success. The Director of Saas Operations provides leadership and sets clarity of direction for all operational activities. The person in this position plays an important role in supporting Jobvite’s business objectives concerning trends and needs within technology and operations, such as vendor management, business operations, operational monitoring, change management and project management. While this is a management role, it is very much a hands-on position and you will be expected to get your hands dirty. You will be responsible for all elements of our infrastructure - from managing our collocation facility up through all the networks and systems that run our products. You will be responsible for growing, managing, and mentoring the team that builds these systems as well as provides 24x7 support. This position reports to the CTO.
The Director of Saas Operations will interact with all levels of Jobvite team members. The person in this position manages, leads, and mentors System Engineers, Network engineers, DBAs and System Administrators on their team while also delivering technical leadership. You will have multi-dimensional operations responsibilities spanning network services, data center services, storage services, server computing and enterprise cloud, monitoring, and 24x7 enterprise operations center.
The Director of Saas Operations works in an extremely fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment, with responsibilities as both a player and a coach, including areas such as application change management, operational monitoring, networking, server infrastructure, and business operations.
Plan for growth, identify needs, find solutions and then implement
Development and Implementation of Technology and Security Policies and Procedures
BCP and Disaster Recovery Architecture, Design, and Documentation
Input to architecture; driving improvements to performance, uptime and visibility. Participate in capacity planning and build out strategies.
Hiring, training and mentoring the team
Monitor and model system stability, performance, and throughput
Implementation and maintenance of all networking hardware, application and database servers.
Share in the 24x7 support needs for our systems.
Management and monitoring of technology infrastructure and personnel
Capital and resource planning for all Cloud Service Saas Operational projects and budgets
Documentation and audits of Standard Operating Procedures
Make recommendations to senior management on desirable or necessary technology changes or improvements.
Manage all software and hardware vendors and maintenance agreements.
Collaborates tightly with other internal teams such as Development, Customer Support, QA and Services.
Enterprise Grade IT Operations experience: Extensive architecture level, hands-on systems experience with emphasis on enterprise grade solutions, enterprise (N+1) level systems infrastructure based on Windows/Linux, SQL Server, MySQL, MongoDB, complex online networking, Virtualization, SAN/NAS storage management, Big data experience.
Leadership in Team and Vendor Management experience: Critical to build, lead, drive, mentor IT Operation and vendor/partner teams. Extensive vendor management experience working in hosted/SaaS infrastructure and datacenter operations environments.
8+ years of hands on relevant professional work experience, with,direct experience of managing 24x7 global operations for mission-critical services for sizable organizations.
In depth knowledge and experience of data center computing are strongly preferred.
Track record of delivering SLA and uptime over extended period of time, with continuous improvements through process, people, or technology cycles.
Experience in working in and managing Applications Support or Operations in a SaaS environment is highly desired.
Experience working in a fast-paced, dynamic entrepreneurial environment to meet aggressive business objectives.
Creative, energetic, assertive, self-starter.
Demonstrable ability to manage, lead, and mentor a team, while creating policies, processes and procedures to support growth.
