The Director of Total Productive Manufacturing (TPM), plans, coordinates, organizes and supports the execution of all activities for TPM implementation within the designated Region.
In line with the Mondelēz Integrated Lean Six Sigma strategy, the TPM Director is expected to provide leadership, coaching and expertise needed to deliver the zero loss and 100% engagement journey for Mondelēz International.
This position requires an experienced TPM deployment leader and practitioner that can help a complex high-growth global organization define, refine and execute a Regional TPM master plan in support of a sustainable top tier Supply Chain.
POSITION SUMMARY: This position will be responsible for coaching plants in the Region while collaborating with other sites and peers on global level.
Responsibilities include coaching at various senior levels to develop capability within the Supply Chain TPM Pillars as defined within the Mondelēz Integrated Lean Six Sigma framework. Given Mondelēz is early in its TPM journey, this role requires exceptional capabilities in Pillar development for Autonomous Maintenance (AM) and Productive Maintenance (PM) Pillars. Development and integration with other Global Pillars such as the leadership, education and training, and focused improvement will be critical. In addition to facilitating phase 1 - 4 execution, the TPM Regional Director will build plant pillar coaching capabilities to make plants self-sufficient in coaching TPM for future wave deployment. An overarching responsibility will be to ensure all TPM efforts are properly focused to address the specified Compelling Business Need (CBN) across the supply chain.
The Regional TPM Lead:
Good command of English both oral and written
- Works across the supply chain and at all levels to help increase TPM capabilities in line with the specified CBN
- Coordinates regional and global TPM activities to include external visits, consultant support and phase audits
- Supports Plants, Plant Managers and Functional Leaders in developing, coordinating and evaluating effective TPM master plans
- Facilitates the integration of all Supply Chain Pillars with an initial focus on AM, PM and DMAIC(FI)
- Coaches Pillar Leaders to build needed capability including self-sustaining Pillar coaching
- Organizes and facilitates progress evaluations and formal phase audits against execution of the TPM master plan
- Participates in all TPM steering committee meetings
- Coordinates the activity of CI Director direct report
- Is an active member in a global collaborative network of Regional Peers
- Places as highest priority the Safety of people and product
- Demonstrated ability to influence and facilitate change across an organization
- Strong working knowledge of Lean Six Sigma with application of DMAIC and Lean concepts
- Extensive software capability including Excel, Word, Minitab (or other statistical software) and MS Project
- Exceptional coaching, communication, interpersonal & leadership skills
Educate regional ISC VP and other functional leaders in the value of TPM. Interact directly with the region CID (reporting to him) to develop a strategy for TPM tailored to the individual region needs. Be viewed as the technical expert and educator by those customers enabling the processes and rapid replication of best practices. Develop the strategy for replication and sustainability within each region. Develop the overall metrics (KPI’s) consistent across all regions. Regional Relationships (INTERNAL / EXTERNAL)
Ability to deliver results through influence. Navigate and delivering strategic, enterprise-wide initiatives across a complex, diversified regional organization. Have a commercial mind-set, as is an understanding of how the broader commercial and operational business functions work together. Translate business strategy into an operational plan, as well as partnering with key business leaders across the organization. Have a greater understanding into cultural differences along with evolving and evolved business conditions and leadership styles.
Complexity: Geography covering designated Region with multiple Business Units and Multiple Countries within some BU’s. Growing markets create an environment where proactive assessment and decision making are critical to success. The incumbent will be the Regional lead for implementing the TPM strategy across all of Mondelez. Must be able to work in an environment where language can be a barrier and have an understanding and ability to read body language.

Bachelor’s Degree required, preferably in Engineering or Supply Chain Advanced Degree (MS / ME or MBA) preferred In depth expertise in TPM implementation including development, deployment and assessment of AM, PM and Focused Improvement (FI) pillars Lean 6 Sigma experience and understanding Certified Black Belt or Master Black Belt highly desired
