Reporting to the vice-president of retail operations, the director of store operations is responsible for the strategic development, deployment and maintenance retail operating policies, programs and systems. The director of store support ensures that field operating procedures enable stores to effectively execute on business goals, customer metrics and employee support needs. They continuously innovate with actionable tools that drive improved operating leverage and efficiency.

Owns store operating policies and procedures, field communications, labor deployment, inventory management and general store operations

Works with retail leadership team to establish annual retail implementation calendar

Facilitates feedback to/from field operations in order to ensure performance and continual development of company goals

Leads the appropriate testing, pilots and roll-out plans for retail initiatives

Collaborates with cross-functional partners to translate business strategies into executable operating plans for the field

Primary liaison between operations and IT in scoping retail systems implementation.

Ensures system compliance with company policies and with federal, state, and local regulations that impact Peet's daily retail business operations

Ensures close integration between the retail stores and Peet's production and merchandising functions to effect efficient forecasting, ordering and execution of retail promotion plans

Collaborates with learning and development team to design and implement training programs covering all aspects of retail operations

Continuously improves the relevance and credibility of the retail balance score card

Maintains working knowledge of benchmarking best operations practices in the retail marketplace.

Seven years in retail or specialty store management; including multi-unit management

Passion for coffee, tea, and people

Pragmatic, confident and committed to actionable timelines

A true operator, comfortable with hands on, obsessed with efficiency and credible with our field organization

Ability to assess, develop and lead people/teams

A creative and conceptual thinker

Strong project management and problem solving skills

Ability to plan and implement strategic vision
