The Director of Strategic Initiatives & Pricing is responsible for advancing Hillshire Brands' strategic pricing capability as a critical, competitive advantage for profitable growth with our customers. In addition, this individual will lead the customer go-to-market (GTM) strategy to enable a deeper level of JBP (joint business planning) collaboration via a trade funding approach that routinizes pay-for-performance This role leads and manages a team of managers and third-party modeling resources that develop analyses, insights and recommendations to identify improvement opportunities across the company. This role works closely with Marketing and Sales teams (Field & Customer Marketing) to provide predictive analysis to objectively influence and guide future pricing executions and unlock the potential of channel pricing alignment in the marketplace in a proactive manner. Key internal interfaces are with the Business Unit Leadership (VP & Directors), CLT (Customer Leadership Team), Procurement, Strategic (Marketing) Analytics Team and both B.U. & Sales Finance.
Essential Job Responsibilities:
Driving continuous process improvement in the way Hillshire Brands advances our go-to-market and provide leading edge solutions for Pricing (EDLC/EDLP) and Trade Fund Management.
Lead role in Channel Alignment pricing unlock to improve OI and capture profitable volume via strategic pricing architecture
Works with Functional Training to identify Customer Management training needs around best practices processes (Pricing, Promotion and Trade Fund Management related) and supports the development of training programs to meet these needs
Lead development of "tool box" to support delivery of Strategy, Goals and KPI's for Pricing (EDLP) and Trade Funds Management (GTM).
Continually improve processes around the Monthly Commodity review meeting to drive decision-making versus inform
Re-engineer process and consult with Marketing Analytics team on Price-Value Architecture Model.
Key consult with Marketing Analytics team & Innovation team on New Item Pricing Model.
Bachelor's Degree required. Master's Degree preferred.
High level of leadership, interpersonal and collaborative skills.
Intellectual intrigue and desire to go beyond project boundaries, confident with working in a dynamic work environment.
Minimum of five years strategic pricing experience.
1-3 years of Category Management/Trade/Customer Marketing preferred.
4-6 years of Field Sales preferred.
3-5 years of Syndicated Data experience.
7-10 years of Business Analysis with emphasis in Price/Promotion preferred.
