Reporting to the Associate Vice President for Student Activities, the Director of Student Leadership and Programming supervises three Assistant Directors and associated staff (Programming and Leadership, Student Involvement, and Student Media) and oversees social, educational and leadership programming for students and student organizations.
Position requires an energetic, student-centered, and team oriented student activities professional who has a demonstrated record of leadership and student organization advising. Considerable professional experience in student activities programming and demonstrated experience in student leadership development; and knowledge of student development principles and best practices. Credentials and references must reflect a high degree of flexibility, self-direction and motivation; the ability to manage conflict and multiple priorities; strong leadership and motivational skills; a high level of personal organization and communication skills; effectiveness in student organization advising; demonstrated ability to supervise staff; competence in fiscal resource management, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively to manage projects to successful completion.
Specific expertise in integrating leadership theory and literature into student leadership development practice in collegiate settings; effectiveness in establishing rapport with and engaging discipline faculty in student organization advisement and collaborative programs; and multicultural competence.
