Financial Industry experience
Recent, hands-on development using C#, C++, ASPX, XSLT, XML, and SOAP for Web applications and services, and Back Office applications is required.
Experience building and managing large-scale Web applications and integrating working data with financial services companies
Expert in XML-centric and service-oriented software architectures
Ability to clearly communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical colleagues
A bachelor's degree is required; an advanced degree is a plus.
You will be responsible for driving any and all software modifications, upgrades, maintenance, and architecture and have the ability to step in as needed to aide in the development hands-on. It's essential that you have recent hands on development experience (this is not a developer role at all, but you will need to be hands on occasionally as needed). In addition, you be managing the technology team which consists of about 10 people in total, including some team leads, and overseeing daily operations. The ideal candidate for this role will have experience mentoring mid level and advanced level people, have experience in the financial industry and asset management experience, and be an effective communicator.
Lead the development team to improve current internal systems and implement new product developments. .
Implement best practices around quality control and release management.
Act as the software guardian and own non-functional requirements, architectural direction, quality of the code, and addressing technical debt. .
Collaborate with various internal technical teams to share products and best practices. .
Manage technology team members by setting individual and group goals, conducting performance reviews, and offering career development coaching/advice.
Effectively communicate the vision and strategy of the technology department so all team members know where they are going, why they are going and how they are going to get there
