Responsible for leading Third Party Logistics (3PL) and Distribution and Trade relationships in the Market Access department of VIVUS, Inc. to enhance revenue and market share access and growth. Support and work with senior management, sales leadership and representatives, marketing, regulatory affairs, manufacturing, and other functional areas as required. This position reports to the Senior Director of Market Access.
Develop and lead relationships with contracted pharmacy customers, such as mail order, national chains, regional chains, food, mass, and independent pharmacies
Develop and lead relationship and negotiations with 3PL provider
Develop and lead relationship and negotiations with all primary and secondary wholesalers
Manage all trade and distributions related contracts
Manage necessary requirements for REMS
Manage REMS vendor
Develop and lead relationships with all internal groups to distribute and move VIVUS products out to contracted pharmacies
Directs the sale of VIVUS products through the distribution and sales channels
Develop and execute strategies to ensure product availability throughout the distribution channel to achieve annual sales goals
Outline department policies and procedures
Manage and resolve all issues related to returns, inventory levels, dating, ordering, price increases, back orders, out of stock, etc. to smooth product distribution throughout the supply chain
Manage and maintain established inventory levels throughout the supply chain
Travel to pharmacy, wholesalers, and 3PL sites, sales territories, and meetings as required.
Monitor and track competitive performance of VIVUS products within the distribution channel; Provide regular updates of any access developments within pharmacies or distributions channels which impact the market availability of VIVUS products.
Ensure contract compliance
Provide necessary dashboard and metrics to monitor performance of business on an ongoing basis
Conduct quarterly reviews with key partners
Continue to bring forward ideas to optimize supply chain and grow business
Bachelor’s degree required, MBA preferred
Key understanding of current US distribution models
Expertise in managing REMS
7+ years relevant experiences in health care/pharma
Recent experience in the Cardiovascular/Metabolic/Diabetes pharmaceutical market preferred
Demonstrated skills in business planning and sales analytics
Ability to translate and compile data into comprehensive and functional reports
