Vivint ’s Director of Training will be responsible for developing and managing the trainers and training programs to ensure the efficiency and effectiveness for existing employees and for new-hires at our corporate headquarters in Provo, Utah. The Training Director will manage the performance of corporate trainers in their duties and functions within the training department, design, develop and deliver customized training, while conducting needs assessments, core competencies and training plans to help employees take care of our security/home automation systems customers.
Essential Functions/Responsibilities:
Develop the overall strategy for initial, ongoing and refresher development activities.
Determine the best training delivery method to maximize learning as well as meet business objectives.
Implement strategies to accelerate cross training and flexibility among employees in support of the business needs.
Manage performance of direct reports, coach and develop staff at corporate HQ in Provo, UT.
Communicate with other departments to ensure information is consistent and our dynamic company culture is maintained.
Update training materials as needed.
Measure, provide, and recommend implementation efforts to increase knowledge and performance to employees and management.
Required Skills
Strong interpersonal/human relation skills to help trainers with training employees on customer service, and problem solving skills.
Strong innovative, analytical and creative problem solving skills
Strong written and verbal communication skills to help you communicate with employees and management.
Strong knowledge of training methodology, adult education, and change management.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a call center environment.
Ability to use computers and computer systems to develop and train.
Exceptional presentation and communication skills.
Required Experience
Bachelor’s degree preferred.
4+ years progressive experience in training and development with people and project management responsibilities.
Previous supervisory experience
Experience building and running a team of trainers is preferred.
