The Director is responsible establishing and articulating the vision and strategy for integrated information technology that enables Candescent Eye to achieve its business strategies and goals. The Director is responsible for providing leadership in the development, implementation and governance of the information systems and technology infrastructure for both longer term strategy and for day-to-day operations.

Key Functions/Responsibilities

  • Defines, communicates and ensures execution of the over-arching strategic IT vision and direction that positively impacts the growth, effectiveness, quality and profitability of Candescent Eye
  • Is accountable for strategy, architecture, delivery and support of all IT applications and computing infrastructure for Candescent Eye
  • Leads and directs the implementation of information systems and monitors all applications to ensure they are effective, capable of rapid response, and meet organizational and operational needs
  • Plans and coordinates operational activities related to custom software development, software configuration and/or integration of purchased software solutions. Defines and maintains the physical infrastructure and network access
  • Safeguards the confidentiality and security of all information in Candescent Eye data systems by setting up security policies and procedures and monitoring compliance
  • Manages contracts, vendors, staff and other resources to ensure the implementation of applications is on time, within budget and in accordance with performance expectations
  • Directs and oversees the business application portfolio with a focus on current and future business objectives to ensure that Candescent Eye attains and remains on state-of-the-market technology to support staff and third party vendors
  • Initiates, implements and monitors IT process improvement activities aimed at reducing costs, improving quality and achieving speed to market
  • Serves as the organization’s security officer
  • Develops and implements strategies to mentor, motivate and retain key employees. Mobilizes the IT team by providing clear direction and inspiring a sense of urgency
  • Maintains a continuing liaison with senior management team members to monitor IT service, evaluate needs and advise on opportunities to address their business needs
  • Creates an effective IT governance model allowing the business to weigh in on which projects get prioritized, resourced and implemented
  • Stays current with new technologies, healthcare industry trends and competitor capabilities in order to help Candescent Eye achieve increased efficiencies and competitive advantage
  • Operates as a senior manager on cross-functional teams to provide strong and effective leadership to Candescent Eye employees


  • Requires a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business Administration or a related field or equivalent experience. A Master’s degree is highly desirable
  • Minimum of 5 years of management experience with increasing responsibilities for management and support of information technology; direct management of a major IT operation is preferred
  • Significant experience in a health care setting is desirable, specifically in technology and information systems planning to support business goals
  • Specific experience with clinical management information systems, customer relationship management systems and financial management systems is a plus
  • Experience should also include exposure to both shared and outsourced solutions, as well as support of in-house information and communication systems in a multi-site client-server environment
  • The ideal candidate will also have:

  • Ability to analyze and resolve complex issues, both logical and interpersonal
  • Effective verbal and written communications skills and effective presentation skills, all geared toward coordination and education
