Cardon Outreach Disability is currently seeking a Hearing Advocate for our Disability Services Division. Disability Advocates are responsible for providing advocacy and representation services to individuals applying for disability benefits from the Social Security Administration. We are seeking Advocates (Non-Attorneys who have passed the Non-Attorney Representation Project Exam) with experience in representing claimants at Social Security Disability hearings before Administrative Law Judges.
Applicant MUST be eligible for direct pay as a non-attorney and in good standings with the Social Security Administration.
Will initially screen claims for medical and financial information to re-determine persons eligibility at that time. Will confirm type of claim and associated dates with hearing office.
Communicate to individuals and obtain any updated medical, financial and contact information.
Organize medical records, scan medical records and supporting documentation to the Hearing Dept
Will accurately document actions taken on a claim within both company and client systems
Ensure claims are fully developed with all medical and financial information.
Experience in the Social Security Disability process and/or medical records preferred.
Bilingual English/Spanish a plus
Strong abilities for prioritizing and attention to detail while working independently in fast-paced environment with strict deadlines
Ability to communicate professionally with mental and/or physically disabled individuals of varying socioeconomic backgrounds.
Prior knowledge of State and Federal Programs (Medicaid/Medicare)
Comprehensive working knowledge of physical and mental impairments, vocational factors and provisions of Title II/Title XVI Federal Social Security law, as well as experience in brief writing are a must.
Work Schedule: M - F 8am - 5pm
Travel is required.
