Disney Event Group - Digital Graphics Internship

As part of the Disney Event Group, Disney Creative Media provides photography, video and digital graphics services for Walt Disney World, Disneyland and Aulani convention and leisure guests. Our award-winning professionals are visual storytellers who create powerful and memorable event content to enhance the story and message.
The intern in this position will report to the Creative Media Manager and will assimilate into the digital graphics/video team by attending creative meetings, being exposed to the proposal development process, assisting with media production and reviews, and providing show operations for live events.
Participating in creative brainstorming sessions – determining appropriate creative solutions
Participating in the development of proposals
Assisting with graphic design projects – creation/clean-up of a variety of artwork using PhotoShop and Illustrator
Supporting Production by assisting with project coordination – prepping files for print/delivery, interfacing with vendors and other Disney Event Group cast to ensure all media is quality checked and delivered on time
Assisting with live productions as needed by providing PowerPoint/Keynote graphics operation onsite – interfacing directly with the client and our AV team.
Potential projects include digital cataloging of reusable graphic assets - archiving
Currently enrolled in a college or university as a Junior or Senior pursuing an undergraduate degree in communications, graphic design or related field.
Strong understanding of design fundamentals including layout, color and
Must be adaptable and able to work in a fast paced work environment
Work well under pressure
Strong follow-up skills, ability to handle details and estimating project design time
Must possess strong verbal and written communications skills
Must have previous multimedia, digital graphics or related experience
Must have proficient knowledge of multiple computer platforms including Mac and PC.
Must have proficient knowledge of Photoshop and Illustrator

Two years digital graphics/ video experience or equivalent
Experience with After Effects, inDesign, 3D, or Mac Keynote applications
Understanding of story elements
Must be enrolled in a U.S. college/university taking at least one class in the semester/quarter (spring/fall) prior to participation in the internship program OR currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Professional Internship
Must be at least 18 years of age
Not have already completed two consecutive (spring/fall) College or Professional Internship Programs
Must possess unrestricted work authorization
Must provide full work availability
Must provide own transportation to/from work
Current Active Disney cast members must meet Professional Internship transfer guidelines (for Walt Disney World cast members this is no more than four points and one reprimand in the last six months; for Disneyland cast members this is six months of consecutive service and a performance record clear of any disciplinary issues (warnings, suspensions, etc.) for at least six months)
The approximate dates of this internship are June 2013 through January 2014. Interns must be fully available for the duration of the internship.
A limited amount of company-sponsored housing is available on a first-come, first-serve basis.
