The Dispatcher is a non-sworn member of the Baylor Health Care System Department of Public Safety and is responsible for a variety of police/security dispatch related duties. Duties include: operating multi-channel 2-way radio system; answering telephones and intercoms; monitoring CCTV systems; monitoring fire, burglary and panic/distress alarms; processing requests for service/assistance; and entering information into computer aided dispatch system (CAD).
At least 18 years of age.
High school education or GED.
Good moral character.
Good interpersonal and public relation skills.
Ability to react well in stressful situations.
No Felony or Class A Misdemeanor convictions.
No class B Misdemeanor convictions in the last 10 years.
Valid driver license with good driving record.
Ability to undergo a thorough background investigation.
Willing and able to work any shift and several locations throughout the Metroplex.
Posses the ability to lift, stand, push, pull, and/or twist for long period of time with or without accommodation.
Ability to muti-task.
Possess good computer skills and keyboard proficiency.
Ability to pass post job offer physical (including drug screening and vision testing) and psychological evaluation.
