The dispatcher will work with other members of the trucking team to increase company profitability and customer satisfaction by efficient and cost-effective scheduling and routing of the trucks.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Assume the responsibility for efficient and cost-effective scheduling of and routing of trucks.
Must possess a clear understanding of the disposal business and must understand each job coming in for dispatch.
Schedule repairs and maintenance of trucks and other company equipment.
Must possess computer skills and the capability to effectively use distribution and office software. Must be able to interpret drivers movement as depicted by the trucks GPS and run supporting reports out of the dispatching software.
Act as liaison between customers and drivers.
Develop a preventive maintenance program.
Attend company meetings as requested.
Follow company policies and procedures.
Working knowledge of Department of Transportation (DOT) rules and regulations.
Superior organizational skills. Accuracy and attention to detail.
Comfortable in fast-paced environment.
Able to multi-task.
Capable of following written instructions and documented procedures.
Able to handle difficult customers with diplomacy and tact. Delivers superior customer service.

Responsible for keeping own immediate work area in a neat and orderly condition to ensure safety of self and co-workers. Will report any unsafe conditions and/or practices to the appropriate supervisor and human resources. Will immediately correct any unsafe conditions as the best of own ability.
High school diploma/GED required. Minimum 3 years in similar position preferred.
