Performs responsible technical and clerical work on an assigned shift dispatching emergency services personnel and equipment often in response to emergency situations; does related work as required. Work is performed under general supervision

Minimum Training and Experience:
High School diploma or equivalent; ability to work shifts, evenings, weekends and holidays; must possess a valid Florida Driver’s License with an acceptable driving record; knowledge of law enforcement procedures and applicable statutes; must become certified by FCIC/NCIC as a Telecommunications Operator within six (6) months of assignment.

Currently certified 911 Public Safety Telecommunicators are preferred.

Special Requirements:
Able to speak clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations.

Ability to remain calm during critical incidents.

Ability to handle several different tasks at one time; multi-functional.

Ability to operate necessary equipment, including personal computer, copier, facsimile machine, and other standard office equipment.
