Answer phones and transfer calls; dispatch units when needed; operate radio by initiating/responding to transmissions; monitor telex/send messages, complete and maintain dispatch records; assist in maintaining equipment (radios, batteries, photography equipment), and check out as needed; monitor other local law enforcement agencies and Fire Department for information; compile broadcasts on want, warrants, missing person, etc.; process and file reports as required. Hours and days vary. Nebraska Law Enforcement Training Center’s Telecommunication Course will be provided.
Minimum Required Qualifications
High School or equivalency required. Keyboarding experience and demonstrative ability to multitask in an emergency situation is essential. Must successfully pass background investigation.
Dispatch experience, knowledge of law enforcement communications, and radio procedures preferred.
