Receives orders from customers and schedules delivery of construction materials such as asphalt, sand or gravel.
Assures that correct products and quantities are delivered in a timely manner.
Maintains records of daily production orders and processes accounts payable and receivable.
ESSENTIAL JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES
Receives and coordinates job orders for asphalt, sand or gravel products.
Schedules and dispatches trucks to deliver materials efficiently and economically.
Responds to customer questions and concerns by phone and in person to maintain good customer relations.
Weighs trucks to ensure that material is correct and the right weight.
Prepares daily production reports.
Computes accounts receivable to assure accuracy of cash sales and receipts.
Orders and maintains materials inventories at plant locations.
Processes invoices for payment and prepares monthly accruals.
NONESSENTIAL JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES
Other duties may be assigned as required.
These may include the performance of other office administrative tasks such as completing bank deposits, filing and bookkeeping.
High School graduation or its equivalent is required.
One (1) to two (2) years experience that has included dispatching, customer relations, and construction/transportation; administrative or sales experience is required.
Telephone, keyboard, computer and 10-key operator experience a plus.
A Weighmaster license is preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Must possess excellent knowledge of paving and construction materials, plant capabilities, mix designs, as well as truck capabilities and transportation requirements and regulations is required.
Must have intermediate computers skills and have the ability to utilize different computer systems to record information and create reports. Must be skilled in providing excellent customer service by phone and in person and have the ability to make basic mathematical computations, schedule and organize large numbers of people and equipment efficiently and quickly, and read maps and communicate effectively with customers as well as truckers. Must be able to work independently and make decisions; memorize and recall detailed information; handle multiple tasks concurrently; work well under pressure; and handle a high volume of calls.

This position may involve exposure to extreme conditions of dust and dirt.
