Location: Thunder Mountain High School
Part-Time Position (.60 FTE - approximately 22.5 hours per week)

TEACHING POSITION : Requires Alaska teaching certificate with appropriate endorsement (s) (for information visit: http://www.eed.state.ak.us/TeacherCertification ). Must be Highly Qualified in Secondary Art.
Position Summary: This position is a good opportunity for anyone who enjoys teaching high school students creative expression in visual terms, using skills and techniques of artistic expression appropriate to the student's interests and abilities. This position teaches a ceramics class. The Distance Learning is facilitating recovery and credit attainment in a computer lab via Distance Learning Programs.

Minimum Requirements:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in education.
  • Valid Alaska teaching certificate with a secondary art endorsement.
  • Federally highly qualified in Secondary Art.
Preferred Requirements:
  • Master's degree in education preferred.
  • Recent experience teaching high school art.
  • Previous experience working with at-risk student population.
Compensation : Salary is dependent on experience and education. We offer an excellent benefit package including; medical, dental, vision and the Teachers Retirement System (TRS) plan.
