Required Education and Experience:|
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
3 - 5 years of successful management experience which includes leadership and supervisory experience in materials / manufacturing / distribution planning and/or scheduling. Candidate should pocess working knowledge of JD Edwards (AS400 and/or E1) WMS / Manhattan WMOS 2007 and advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
APICS / CPIM or CSCP a plus
Strong problem solving and analytical skills
Strong communication skills
Practical knowledge of lean/six sigma strategies with proven ability to implement same.
Experience with fiscal activities such as staffing levels, budgets, and financial goals.
Proven track record of driving results and continuous improvement in an organization by utilizing Pareto analysis, PDCA's, A3's and Lean Kaizen events.
Job Purpose Statement
This position directs and coordinates activities of personnel engaged in distribution planning for the site. This position is responsible for at least two (2) individuals. The supervisor has direct responsibility for a department and/or operation. Experience ranges from three (3) to six (6) years. This position is responsible for managing employee relations to include hiring and/or termination of employees, training, coaching and counseling, oversight of production and/or processes.
The position requires excellent focus, high energy and enthusiasm, forward thinking, strong analytical capability, excellent problem solving, the ability to manage change, solid execution and a commitment to help the company meet financial objectives and exceed customer expectations. This position also requires independent decision making utilizing Company procedures and guidelines.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Manage inventory accuracy
Manages and responds promptly to difficult and sensitive customer issues
Solicit customer feedback to improve service
Responsible for preparation of production schedules for the site
Responsible for establishing labor requirements in accordance with lead times to completion dates according to sales forecasts and customer orders
Performs mathematical calculations utilizing production specifications and capacity to determine production processes, tools, and labor requirements
Expedites operations that delay schedules and alters schedules to meet unforeseen conditions
Must have the ability to quickly identify issues, problems, and opportunities while maintaining effectiveness in a changing environment
Monitor and maintain distribution requirements planning parameters
Assures site is in compliance with transportation policies, procedures, and programs
Manage multiple priorities while achieving deadlines
Demonstrate ability to effectively organize, conduct and follow-up on meetings
Demonstrate effective problem solving skills
Manage activities, processes and strategic plans of the company that support the strategic vision, marketing strategies, and financial objectives.
Analyze processes and procedures to produce maximum service with minimal downtime.
