The Secondary Literacy Coordinator will work under the direction of the Director of Teaching and Learning. He/She will be responsible for grades 7-12 curriculum and instructional delivery in both Reading and English Language Arts.

The Secondary Literacy Coordinator will:
demonstrate leadership skills and experiences.

have successful experience in leading staff development.

demonstrate extremely strong written and verbal communication skills, along with the ability to communicate successfully with multiple audiences.

possess knowledge of current research and best practices in instruction and assessment in the areas of Reading and English Language Arts.

be knowledgeable and experienced with digital literacy.

have knowledge and experience in developing Common Formative Assessments.

support the development of Response to Intervention models.

have knowledge and experience with Professional Learning Communities.

demonstrate the ability to work successfully as a team member.

be experienced in ordering materials and managing professional budgets.

have experience in staff selection.

maintain strong content knowledge of standards and the Common Core.

provide demonstrated success in problem solving and conflict resolution.

demonstrate the ability to organize and facilitate the completion of complex tasks in a thorough and timely manner.

have experiences in successfully collaborating with others toward a common goal.

regularly attend District Curriculum Coordinator meetings.

complete tasks as directed by the Director of Teaching and Learning.
