Under the direction of the Division Chief, the candidate will be responsible for the efficient operations of the academic and clinical, financial and support services of the division. This is a management position with supervisory responsibility for employees of Columbia University, New York Presbyterian Hospital and East 61st Street Service Corporation.
The Divisional Administrator position will be responsible for the clinical efficiency of the outpatient practice for the Division. This will include implementing and monitoring compliance with the patient registration policies, monitoring charge capture process, MPV performance, customer service, analyzing trends, and make recommendations related to patient satisfaction and practice productivity. Wii assist Division Chief with oversight of daily operation of financial functions. Monitor monthly expense reports and investigate questionable invoices. Work with Finance department to correct errors. Assist in the preparation of operating budgets. Advise Chief of any unexplained changes in program spending. Review purchasing requisition and vouchers, identifies cost containment possibilities and develop proposals for improved contracts. Investigate supplies not shipped, contacts vendors regarding problems and obtains releases form credit holds. Assist in the preparation of business plans. Will also ensure Human Resources management, integration, coordination and consistency. Responsible for payroll and vacant position processing, to include Human Resources interface. Review personnel payroll sheets for proper time recording and assist with special projects as assigned by the Division Chief.

Minimum Qualifications for Grade
Applicant MUST meet these minimum qualifications to be considered an applicant

Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in education and experience, plus five years of related experience required.

Training or experience in a healthcare setting is required. Computer proficiency in word processing, spreadsheet, database management and e-mails required. Strong financial accounting and data analysis skills required. Excellent communications, organizational and interpersonal skills necessary

Preferred Qualifications

Master's degree in public health/business administration/health care management preferred.
