Under general supervision of the Division Director, Management Engineering, plays a lead role in division and facility productivity and process improvement projects, working with m anagement, staff, and teams in the areas of process improvement, productivity and labor management, measurement and performance monitoring, resource allocation, scheduling, and statistical analysis. This position requires an individual who is a self-starter, has the ability to manage multiple priorities, work with only general supervision on assigned projects and activities, demonstrate tact and diplomacy in situations of conflict and controversy, and demonstrate excellent communication and presentation skills. This position is also responsible for complying with corporate policy and procedures, managing resources, and identifying and meeting customer needs in a team environment.
Experience Required – One to three years of experience in management or industrial engineering. Demonstrated knowledge of improvement methodologies, including Lean. Must have strong interpersonal, facilitative, written and presentation skills, as well as experience in process re-engineering and the application of quantitative analysis techniques as applied in a healthcare setting.

Preferred – Previous productivity & improvement experience in a health care setting.

Education Required - Bachelor degree in Industrial Engineering, Management Engineering, Health Systems Engineering, Health Care Administration or a related field.

Additional Skills Required – Advanced knowledge of data collection, analysis and SPC tools. Analytical ability to gather, organize and interpret data, to identify discrepancies, problems or issues, to obtain advice with precedents are unclear or unavailable. Knowledge of Industrial Engineering principles such as work flow analysis, statistical analysis, work simplification, time standard and staffing analysis, and LEAN/Six Sigma healthcare concepts and process improvement techniques as they apply to healthcare management system processes and operations. Proficiency in the use of personal computer with knowledge of various software applications including word processing, database, spreadsheets, presentation software. Excellent verbal/written communication and presentation skills.
