Required Skills

Complete leadership responsibility for a key division of Barnes Aerospace that specializes in engine component repair for engine OEMs, airlines, military and land based turbine operators and overhaul shops.

Empowers teams with a managerial style that is collaborative, inclusive and balanced in approach to achieve commitments. Identifies and eagerly shares and leverages best practices across the business as appropriate.

Responsible for the performance, overall development, and operation of the division. Manage the facility with a results driven framework focused on safety, quality, and continuous improvement to exceed customer expectations and business goals.

Effectively lead efforts to continuously improve the division’s competitive position resulting in reduced turn time and cost.

Provides leadership and employee development through selection/talent acquisition, performance management, training/development, coaching/mentoring and motivation of management, supervisory and hourly employees in alignment with the business goals and objectives. Recognizes and rewards employees for their efforts to drive results.

Develops and implements short and long-range plans for strategic growth.

Required Experience

Minimum of ten plus years of operations, manufacturing/engineering experience, preferably in aerospace with an emphasis on aerospace aftermarket. Ideally, experience would include engine component repair, knowledge of FAA regulations and repair station operating guidelines.

Eight to ten years of experience effectively leading and managing people. A proven track record of implementing and successfully executing employee relations strategies and creating a positive work environment.

Demonstrated leadership effectiveness (EI). Must be an effective change leader who challenges the status quo and acts with a sense of urgency to drive results. Effectively balances consistency with flexibility and willing to change ideas in the face of new information.

A customer advocate with the skills to develop and nurture long-term relationships with senior leadership at our key customers.

Strong business acumen and strategic thinking with demonstrated accomplishments. Proven performance setting and exceeding customer service goals and profit targets.

Impeccable integrity; Superior interpersonal skills; able to communicate and engage personnel at all levels of the organization.

Lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, and/or Six Sigma training preferred.

Six Sigma or Lean Certification highly desired.

Education Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree required in engineering or related discipline. MBA or advanced degree preferred.
