This position is an anticipated vacancy. The Division Right of Way is responsible for carrying out all right of way acquisition functions in the Division. This includes the responsibility of certifying all right of way acquisitions for letting of highway projects to include secondary road acquisitions and additions to the state maintenance system. The Division Right of Way agent must be fully informed as to departmental policies and procedures in the day to day duties and in the training of employees. The Division Right of Way Agent is responsible for the supervision of the Right of Way Agents, Right of Way Agent Trainees, Processing Assistants and temporary personnel assigned to the Division of Right of Way office. The Division Right of Way Agent reports directly to the Division Construction Engineer.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities / Competencies:
Employee must have full knowledge of FHWA, DOT and Right of Way Branch policies and procedures. This employee must have an understanding of all phases and steps in the negotiating process. This employee must have communication skills necessary to explain/discuss these policies and procedures with others in the Negotiating Unit, Right of Way Unit, Division of Highways and the general public. This employee must be able to interpret highway right of way and construction plans and explain these to other Division of Highways employees and the general public.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:
Graduation from a four-year college or university and four years of experience in right of way work or real estate appraisal work, including three years of right of way work. . . . .
