Reporting to the Director of Pediatric Emergency Medicine and the Department Administrator of Pediatrics, the Divisional Administrator will oversee the financial and operational activities of the Division of Pediatric Emergency Medicine. The administrator will be responsible for maintaining fiscal controls, including developing and managing program budgets, monitoring expenses, overseeing payroll and reconciling university and hospital accounts. The administrator will work with the Division Director on strategic planning, assist in development of business plans, provide oversight of the clinical practice operation, direct the credentialing process for faculty, assure compliance with university policies related to practice plans, grants and contracts and human resources and hire, train and supervise support staff. The candidate is expected to work closely with hospital and university representatives on budgetary and operational issues and will serve as the divisional representative on all administrative matters. Superior accounting skills, expertise in insurance reimbursement schedules for all insurance carriers, familiarity with specific billing ciompliance and NYS regualtions as it relates to university operations, maintaining real times updates for hospital coding requirements and charges. Prior experience/background in high-level hospital administrative operations. Other functions as assigned by the Dept. Administrator.
Minimum Qualifications for Grade Applicant MUST meet these minimum qualifications to be considered an applicant
Requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent in education and 5 years progressive experience. Managerial experience in an academic medical center preferred. Master's degree preferred. Candidate is expected to have strong analytical skills and supervisory experience, excellent organizational and communication skills, demonstrated ability to work independently. Prior experience with complex information systems preferred. Prior experience in hospital administration.
