The Dean will provide leadership in the ongoing development of an innovative and current curriculum that prepares students for transfer and career opportunities. In addition, s/he will foster collaboration across disciplines to promote faculty partnerships and deep learning through learning communities, service and cooperative learning and other proven pedagogical strategies. S/he will provide administrative and instructional leadership to the faculty in the respective division and serves in an advisory capacity in all matters relating to the curriculum and the instructional process.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Coordinates the development of new curricula and the revision of curricula as needed
• Coordinates the preparation and periodic revision of division course syllabi
• Coordinates the preparation of course offerings for credit, dual credit, and continuing education classes
• Recommends division course offerings and teaching assignments for each term
• Recruits, interviews, and recommends the appointment of highly qualified division faculty and staff
• Coordinates the division’s evaluation of instructional effectiveness and student progress
• Provides assistance to and promotes professional development among faculty and staff in duties such as teaching classes, conducting orientation programs, and scheduling events
• Promotes effective integration and use of technology in all aspects of teaching and learning
• Provides opportunities for faculty and staff to participate in professional development
• Evaluates faculty and staff performance
• Collaborates with Department Chairs, faculty and staff to develop and execute enrollment management strategies to affect recruitment, retention and student success
• Plans, administers, and controls budgets; maintains financial records; and produces financial reports
• Represents the District and/or the campus at community or college meetings or events
• Participates in faculty and committee activities
• Establishes operational policies and procedures and makes any necessary modifications, based on District policy, analysis of operations, demographics, and other research information
• Confers with other academic staff on admission requirements and course credit policies to ensure consistency in application
• Provides guidance to Department Chairs in matters of teaching and learning
• Uses analytics and assessment to ensure operational effectiveness and student success
• Employs ethical standards and inclusive practices to ensure faculty, staff and student engagement
• Participates in professional development activities
• Attends the workplace regularly, reports to work punctually and follows a work schedule to keep up with the demands of the worksite
• Completes all required training and professional development sessions sponsored through the Tarrant County College ( TCC ) Institute
• Supports the values of the College: diversity, teaching excellence, student success, innovation and creativity and service to the College
Required Education, Experience, Certifications, Licensures
• Master’s degree from a regionally accredited college or university (major in one of the instructional areas OR graduate coursework sufficient to teach within a college division)
• Three (3) years of administrative experience in an educational, governmental, or business/industry setting
• Three (3) years of teaching experience at the post-secondary level
• Skill and experience in interpersonal and small group relationships and in conflict resolution
• In-depth understanding of planning, program development, evaluation, and budgeting
• Experience with computerized systems
• Proficiency with word processing, spreadsheet and presentation software
• Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
Desired Education, Experience, Certifications, Licensures
• Doctorate degree from a regionally accredited college or university (major in one of the instructional areas within the academic division OR graduate coursework sufficient to teach within the division)
• Experience in comprehensive community college setting;
• Knowledge of effective instructional and learning assessment methods
• Outstanding public speaking ability
• Experience in acquiring external funding
