Future US is seeking a Django Developer to work on gamesradar.com to help build some amazing new functionality and grow user engagement on a high traffic site. We're running many server instances on Rackspace Cloud using Django, MySQL, Memcache, Celery with Redis, Haystack with Solr, Java, Puppet, and Ubuntu. This is a chance to influence product functionality and participate in our agile development process. We are focused on data driven product development and experimentation for swift learning. Our developers work front to back and are comfortable tweaking an nginx config, writing middleware & context processors, defining the object model, refining a mysql query, or optimizing css selectors.

Responsibilities :
Build and maintain one of the largest video games information websites on the internet.

Coordinate development efforts with project manager, on-staff, and contract developers.

Plan, estimate, develop, and deploy updates and new site functionality.

Write exemplary, well-tested code.

Participate in peer code reviews.

Support site operations and respond to performance issues.

Requirements :
Passion for Django & Python –beyond models, views, urls, and templates, you have written powerful middleware, context processors, template tags & filters, and believe the world is a better place when everybody adheres to the DRY principle.

2-3+ years web development experience using Django, Python, Javascript (Jquery), HTML5, CSS3.

Strong MySQL skills including and query optimization.

Experience using Git.

Understanding and use of Virtualenv, Pip, & Fabric.

Caching, scaling, and front-to-back performance best practices.

Experience building and consuming RESTful web services.

B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science or related field.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Agile Development and Continuous Integration.

Desirable Skills :
Building and maintaining Content Management Systems (CMS).

Configuration management with Puppet, Chef, Fabric, or Capistrano.

Mobile Development for iPhone and/or Android.

Data Driven Product Development using experimentation, A/B, and multivariate testing.

Java web application development and hosting with Tomcat or Jetty

Experience with Apache Solr.

NoSQL with CouchDB, MongoDB, Cassandra, or Redis.

Monitoring and performance diagnostics to troubleshoot production systems.
