Job Summary: The Dock Worker sorts and unloads donated goods from Attended Donation Station (ADS) trailers, under the direction of Lead Dock worker and/or Warehouse Coordinator.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Education and/or Experience: High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Unload ADS trailers
- Sort Donated merchandise into designated retail categories
- Assemble pallet and Gaylord combination for trailer (7-pak) set up
- Sort and Band shoes
- Maintain clean, safe working environment
Language Skills: Ability to read a limited number of two- and three-syllable words and to recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers. Ability to print and speak simple sentences in English.
Mathematical Skills: Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is frequently required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, and talk or hear. The employee is regularly required to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and frequently required to lift and/or move up to 40 pounds. Lifting over 40 pounds requires team left or use of appropriate equipment.
Work Environment: Worked is performed in a warehouse environment. In the performance of duties may work inside and outside and may be exposed to significant temperature changes. The employee is required to work near moving equipment such as forklifts and stationary equipment with mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
