Provides support to the physician in the clinic and physician’s office to guarantee that quality care is available. Serving (one) physician in clinical and secretarial functions. Maintains and ensures the physician’s patient volume.
Works with Physician/Attorney in setting up depositions to include billing.
Opens and screens physician’s mail and responds accordingly.
Checks physician’s schedules (daily) to maintain accuracy.
Answers general correspondence by composing and typing letters.
Triages office telephone and responds to appropriately to caller’s needs.
Calls in prescriptions as directed by physician.
Completes disability forms within a 72-hour turnaround; ascertains that payment has been made to receptionist prior to returning forms.
Keeps master calendar for physician.
Ensures charts are checked prior to next day clinic. Chart checking includes: reading the appropriate previous dictation(s), securing all diagnostic results and placing then appropriately in the chart, and making sure charts are complete and if necessary placing the documents in order.
Schedules all surgery and tests ordered by physician; arranges special equipment as needed by physician for surgery.
Enters pertinent information into the computer.
Assists with surgery procedure and DME, pre-certification and insurance verification as needed.
Schedules patient appointments, as needed.
Travels to other offices as required in assisting physician.
Performs suture removal, venipuncture, dressing changes and assists in all patient procedures as directed by physician.
Assists physicians in making and confirming travel reservations, hotel accommodations; verifies speaking arrangements; registers physicians for conferences.
Assists physicians with typing and arranging speeches, slides, and presentations.
Maintains stock of specialty items used by physicians in clinic.
Assists with board certification and recertification.
Performs other related duties as needed or assigned by clinic manager and/or physician.
This is a full time position at the Germantown Clinic.
High school graduate or equivalent
Must have a minimum of one year experience in a medical setting
Must be able to type 40 WPM
Must have an understanding of medical terminology
