REPORTS TO: Director, Program Management
PRIMARY OBJECTIVE : The Documentation Specialist is responsible for the production of technical and non-technical documentation including manuals, process documents, specification, briefing documents and presentations, monthly status reports, and proposals.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
A ssist Program Management team members in developing documentation that is clear and understandable.
Organize material and complete writing assignment according to set standards regarding order, clarity, conciseness, style, and terminology.
Assists in the development of supporting materials (illustrations, tables, diagrams, etc.).
Tracks and monitors flow of all documents from inception to distribution of final copies.
Identifies and correct problem areas as they arise.
Establishes and maintain electronic and/or hardcopy data library of documents and work files for documents received for processing.
Submit copies to Program Management team for feedback. Adjust copy as necessary and proofread for grammar and spelling.
KNOWLEDGE AND EDUCATION:
BS in Journalism, English (or related field) with 0 – 2 years of experience in technical documentation and writing.
Strong command of the English language (to include punctuation, sentence structure, and technical editing
Proficient in MSOffice applications including MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
The ability to work in a fast paced, challenging and frequently changing environment
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Ability to understand and convert highly technical language into plain language.
Strong grammatical proficiency and ability to proofread documentation
Ability to work independently or as a member of a team.
Organizational skills and ability to layout information logically.
