Seasons Center for Behavioral Health is looking for a full-time qualified Domestic Abuse Intervention Program Coordinator to work in the Spencer Office. This position is responsible for managing all aspects of Domestic Abuse Intervention Program (DAIP) services. The central feature of DAIP services is the Batterers Education Program classes provided to individuals who have been convicted of the crime of domestic abuse assault. Services are currently based upon the Duluth Model of Intervention, although it is anticipated that a pilot group will be started utilizing the newly developed ACTV curriculum. Preference will be given to applicants with training and experience with both of those interventions. Qualified individuals will need to display interpersonal skills, communication skills, organizational skills, and be a team player within the Seasons. The position is salaried, and flexibility with work schedule and day travel to other Seasons’ office locations in Northwest Iowa would be required.
Responsibilities include but would not be limited to:
Facilitating Batterers Education Classes
Training Employees to facilitate Batterers Education Class
Conducting Individualized Assessments of offenders
Coordinating with and supporting the efforts of other community providers as would be fully consistent with the Coordinated Community Response Model in order to insure victim safety and offender accountability
Tracking all case activity and providing area Courts or other referral sources with timely and ongoing documentation of any individual’s program status
The qualified individual must hold a Bachelor’s Degree in criminology, psychology, social work, or another related field, with experience in domestic abuse intervention services required. A Master’s Degree and relevant experience is preferred.
